OpenFinances

Your money at a glance

Expenses, budgets, debts and upcoming bills. No account, no internet permission.

Android · in closed testing on Google Play

Designed twice. Once for each direction.

Every screen is drawn for English, left to right, and for Persian, right to left. Switch the language and watch each part move to its place.

Privacy

No internet permission.

The app has no internet permission, no account and no server, so Android itself keeps it offline.

Check it yourself

Every permission an Android app has is declared in its manifest. OpenFinances’ manifest is public on GitHub, and the internet isn’t in it.

Read the manifest

Everything your money needs. Nothing it doesn’t.

Budgets

Set a budget per category and see what is left

Every entry

Record expenses and income, each with a category, a date and a note

Statistics

See where your money goes: categories, daily spending, spending pace and a calendar of your days

Comparisons

Compare this period with the last one and with your own average

Upcoming payments

Keep upcoming payments in one list, with what is overdue up front

Debts

Bank messages

If you allow notification access, the app can read your bank’s messages from their notifications and offer them for recording. Show it a message’s layout once and it knows the next one. This is optional, and the reading happens on your phone

What’s new.

  1. 1.0.14
    • Fingerprint lock: leaving the app while it asks, then coming back, asks again by itself
    • Picking a suggested title moves on to the amount
    • Debts: the due date button reads better in Persian
  2. 1.0.13
    • A smaller download, with everything working as before
  3. 1.0.12
    • Settings: choose the order dates are written in
    • Date picker: a clearer warning for dates on the unexpected side, past or future, that you can turn off; true square day boxes
    • Add sheets are shorter: the note opens from a small chip by the amount, and a debt's two dates share a row
    • Date fields: reset to today or erase right from the field
    • New, lighter tips that point at where to tap
    • Budget: a plus on categories with no budget yet
    • Backups remember the folder you picked

Every release is listed in the app, under Settings, About.
